Samsung MultiXpress CLX-8640ND Driver and User Guide
The Samsung CLX-8640ND is a colour laser multifunction printer designed for demanding office environments, offering printing, copying, and scanning capabilities with optional fax functionality. It accommodates a standard 520-sheet input capacity expandable up to 2,180 sheets with additional trays, plus a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 100-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF). Output capacity is around 500 sheets, and it supports a wide range of media sizes and types, including A4, A5, A6, B5, envelopes, labels, and more.
It delivers robust performance with print speeds up to around 38–40 pages per minute in both black and colour and a first page out time of about 9 seconds for black and 11 seconds for colour documents. The printer supports automatic duplex printing and produces prints with resolutions up to 600 × 600 dpi (enhanced up to 1,200 × 600 dpi effective) using laser technology. Copying functions include speeds up to 38 cpm with resolutions of 600 × 600 dpi and enlargement/reduction scaling between 25 % and 400 %, allowing up to 9,999 copies in a single run. Scanning is performed via a flatbed and ADF with an optical resolution of 600 × 600 dpi (enhanced up to 4800 × 4800 dpi), and supports scan-to-email, FTP, and USB destinations.
Samsung MultiXpress CLX-8640ND has page description languages include PCL 5c, PCL 6, PostScript 3, and PDF 1.7, and it features a 1 GHz processor with 1 GB internal memory and a 320 GB internal hard drive for efficient handling of large jobs. Networking is facilitated through Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0, with support for common network protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, LDAP, and SSL/TLS. A 7″ colour touchscreen display simplifies operation and menu navigation.
