The Samsung S85H is a 4K OLED Glare Free TV designed as Samsung’s more affordable OLED option. It uses an OLED panel with a 3840 × 2160 resolution and a native 100 Hz refresh rate, while supporting up to 4K at 120 Hz for gaming. Its main strengths are OLED picture quality, strong gaming support with 4K 120 Hz and VRR, four HDMI 2.1-capable connections, and Samsung’s smart-TV features. The main drawbacks are the lack of Dolby Vision and relatively modest built-in audio.
It is powered by Samsung’s NQ4 AI Gen2 processor and includes 4K AI upscaling, OLED HDR, HDR10+ Adaptive/Gaming/Advanced, and Color Booster Pro. It also features an Ultra Viewing Angle, anti-reflection technology, and Filmmaker Mode. The TV runs on Samsung’s Tizen operating system and comes with a 2.0-channel 20 W sound system. Audio features include Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Sound Lite, and Q-Symphony. While the built-in speakers are adequate for everyday viewing, a soundbar would provide considerably better bass and a more immersive experience.
For connectivity, the Samsung S85H 4K HDR Smart OLED TV has four HDMI ports, all supporting 4K 120 Hz, along with two USB-A ports. It supports eARC, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Gaming features include VRR, FreeSync Premium, G-SYNC, ALLM, HGiG, and Samsung’s Game Bar, making it well suited to consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
